A public identifier that puts none of your details at risk
The eight digit reference is generated automatically when your account is created and stays tied to your email address. It is separate from your virtual bank account: sharing it reveals neither your IBAN, nor your balance, nor your address.
A sender can therefore pay you from any country without you having to hand over a document. If the person sending you money does not have an account yet, an email claim link lets them open one and complete the transfer in the same session.

Card or balance, with an automatic fallback
You choose to debit your CFPAY balance or a card you have authorised. Before execution, a preauthorisation checks the card's validity, the limits and the availability of funds, which removes failures halfway through an operation.
If an authorisation is declined anyway, CFPAY offers an alternative straight away: retry, another card, or a balance top up. You never have to resubmit the transfer.
